September is one of the best months to visit Tanzania, especially for safaris in the Serengeti and other northern parks. This is the dry season, which means sunny days, very little rain, and excellent wildlife viewing as animals gather around water sources.
Temperature: Days are generally warm, ranging from the mid-70s to mid-80s °F (24–29°C). Early mornings and evenings can feel cooler, especially on game drives, with temperatures dropping into the 50s–60s °F (10–18°C).
Rain: Rain is very rare this time of year, so skies are usually clear.
Humidity: Low, making it comfortable for both game drives and walking safaris.
Best for: Wildlife viewing is at its peak, and it’s also one of the most pleasant times weather-wise to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Travelers should bring light, breathable clothing for daytime and a warm layer or jacket for the evenings and early mornings.
